No Solicitation Policy for Chamber of Commerce
The Pelham Chamber of Commerce recognizes the vital roles both local businesses and non-profit organizations play in our community. To balance the support for these entities, we have established the following policy regarding solicitations for donations.
1. Limitation on Solicitation to the Chamber: Effective immediately, we respectfully request that organizations refrain from soliciting the Chamber directly for donations. This policy is designed to manage the Chamber's resources effectively, allowing us to continue our mission of supporting local businesses.
2. Guideline for Community Solicitations: While this policy does not extend to solicitations made directly to individual businesses, we urge all organizations to consider the cumulative impact of their requests on small businesses. Given the significant number of organizations in our community, thoughtful solicitation is encouraged to avoid undue burden on our local businesses.
3. Encouragement of Mutual Support: We strongly advocate that organizations which receive donations from businesses show their appreciation through patronage and public acknowledgment. This approach fosters a reciprocal relationship, strengthening our community's economic ecosystem.
